Outstanding burgers and chips!

Very cozy, typically Bavarian inn in the center of the village. We ate here twice during our vacation. There is something for everyone on the menu. The service is always attentive and the dishes were delicious. Price-performance ratio completely okay!

Typical Bavarian food, very, very tasty and at reasonable prices. The service is quick, good and very friendly. I've been here twice while passing through, and would come back here every time.

Nice atmosphere, the food is delicious and plentiful. The daily offers are particularly lucrative. Fish from the region is also offered, but also deer, for example. So overall strong regional cuisine. But if you are looking for something light, you will get your money's worth here. The staff is very attentive and asks regularly for requests. The terms are direct but polite. However, I deduct one star because it is not very wheelchair accessible. Overall, the restaurant is highly recommended, tasty and traditional :)

Typical Bavarian economy - simply wonderful! We got a table for two people very easily. The menu is very attractive and clearly structured. The prices are reasonable. The service was very courteous and friendly. The food was excellent. We had a wonderful evening.

Eating there yesterday. Food is alright. That's it. Corona rules not respected inside. When confronted, waiter didn't take any responsibility. In German 'eine feige'. Place should be shut down.

Very nice ambience; friendly staff. Unfortunately, that's about it. The consistency of the meatloaf was very, very "mushy" - I can hardly describe it otherwise - the roast unfortunately had nothing of what makes a roast. It was a completely shapeless mass that didn't taste like anything, really a shame. The burger was nothing special, but the advertised quality of some of the comments - I would like to have - but I cannot confirm.

Super delicious food. Both the classics of the region as well as burgers and co. Absolutely friendly waiters and it's quick. Was twice. I can only recommend it.

Unfortunately we were ripped off brazenly. Instead of € 36.70 we were suddenly at € 46.20. My friend wanted to order the dish of the day (roast veal with dumplings and buttered vegetables). The waitress first took our cards from us and then took our order. Only then did we find out that the roast veal was unfortunately over. Usually not a problem if the waitress hadn't offered a veal schnitzel instead of the roast. My friend agreed without knowing that at that moment he ordered a completely different dish for € 4 more. Without the cards we couldn't look up anything. The waitress also asked whether with or without a salad. For us it was definitely not an additional order and it is not our first time to eat. But this also cost another € 4.90. In the end the waitress asked for € 46.20, which we paid. However, we requested the receipt, which we had not initially received. The amount to be paid was only read from the cell phone. On the bill was only 45.20 €, with which we were verbally ripped off again by 1 €. We tried to talk to the lady, who first said that the roast veal would cost the same as the schnitzel, which was simply not right and there was nothing she could do about it now. Last but not least, she patted my friend snippet on the shoulder, which we found quite cheeky. Our evening was really over after that ...

Really nice rustic inn with its own charm. We had the “Bear Feast” which I can warmly recommend to everyone. It was a cozy evening with good beer and hearty, delicious food!

The food itself is quite good and reasonably priced. A nice place in the "shopping street". The seats outside are covered with awnings and made a little more comfortable with radiant heaters, even if the weather is bad. You can also sit in the inner courtyard, but it doesn't seem particularly cozy there. However, there is a huge TV hanging there, probably for soccer games or the like. The rooms are also nicely designed, especially with larger groups there is plenty of space, as there are several large tables. All in one, you should at least have eaten there and make your own judgment. Good Appetite

Very good restaurant in the best location. Here you can even sit in the covered outdoor area in rainy weather and enjoy the very good food. We didn't miss anything when it comes to service. We recommend!

rude waitress slamming the food to us waiter did not inform us about the real price, only finding excuses. (apparently some people already complained regarding the confusing menu, but they did not change it) Bärenschmaus costs 40 euros not 20 euros. (it was also a very small plate) I do not recommend this place

The Bergsteiger Schniztel was excellent, very tender meat and generous portions. In terms of price, it is also not cheap but okay. Service was friendly and attentive, food came relatively quickly.

When we were there we were greeted very friendly and had a friendly service. The food was very tasty and the "speed" of the service, both with drinks and food, was not lacking at all. There is a very large selection of dishes and not only the dishes with meat, but also the vegetarian dishes were very tasty. The price-performance ratio was great and the portions definitely not too small. We would love to come back!

Everyone should have a look here. Super delicious food, friendly and courteous staff. We tried it once and were here very often. We look forward to the next visit :)

Returning after a 2 year hiato, I acknowledged the service is worst. The food is still ok, but the lack of sympathy let me down. Always the forced smile and the forced phrases. There is a lot to improve. Maybe gets better in the future.

Charged for a black tea when asked for hot water. When I mentioned this, she said there was no other way of charging for hot water. Wasn't told this when we ordered nor were we given the tea either. The food is okay but not cheap, so I don't understand why she did this. Not very professional. I've worked at a restaurant, and never have I been so bold and cheap to charge for hot water.

Have tried Weiner Schnitzel with fries. Delicious dish. And had germknödel as dessert. Highly recommend this for anyone in this area.

Spacious, welcoming with great staff and amazing food. This restaurant in the heart of Berchtesgaden is a must visit place because you will not be disappointed. It has changed from my last visit and it is even better now. Thank you for your hospitality.

I only spent a short time here, but a very nice place. The terrace is very pleasant, the staff polite and the service is quick.

Located in the small town of Berchtesgaden, 4 km north of Königssee, Germany, it is the best place to stay at Kings Lake. There are many restaurants in the town, and Goldener Bär is ideally located at the three-way intersection of the main road of Maximilianstraße. It has an English menu and offers Central European cuisine, even burgers and chips and Lager Beer. The food is modern and traditional. Mix and match style. There are a lot of outdoor tourists, drink beer and check out the scenery of the town, and the business is quite good. Pre-dinner beef soup, pork chops with sauerkraut sauerkraut, is very appetizing; plus the typical German meatballs Meatball has a unique flavor, the price is not friendly.

We hade the dinner here. The service was friendly, unfortunately food was average, We had wiener schnitzel and fish&chips. The cook should try how original should taste. Bier was OK.

Horrible/inefficient service, wrong orders and arrogant waiters. Go elsewhere, there’s plenty of better restaurants in the area.

The service team is on Zack, we were served very quickly and never had to wait long. The food was adequate, I had worse, you realize that the chef understands his craft. For 5 * the last whistle was missing, otherwise the restaurant is absolutely to be recommended.

The staff is friendly and the food is okay. Beer is recommended for local beer. Please visit the inside of the shop interior.

We had a lovely night out nice meal and drinks service was excellent and very friendly situated in a quiet location in Berchtesgaden but still very central prices very reasonable all in all we had a good time.
